Hammond RP1170BFC 165x85x55mm Polycarbonate Clear-Lid Enclosure, Flanged

The RP1170BFC is a water-tight polycarbonate enclosure with a clear lid and an integral bottom mounting flange, measuring 6.5 in x 3.35 in x 2.17 in (165 mm x 85 mm x 55 mm). It is a 165 x 85 x 55 mm body that pairs the longer 157 mm maximum board length with 49.40 mm of inside height. Designed to meet IP65, it suits OEM engineers, panel builders and electronics integrators who need to house printed circuit boards or components and bolt the box directly to a wall, panel or machine surface.

The body is polycarbonate with a UL94 V-2 flame rating, and the clear lid lets indicators, displays or internal status be viewed without removing it. A two-piece tongue and groove lid with a rubber gasket protects against access of oil, dust and water; the gasket is included and must be field installed. The part page lists the colour as Light Gray, while the series ordering table places this part under Off-White Polycarbonate.

According to the drawing, the flanged body is 194.95 mm [7.68 in] long overall, with flange mounting holes of 5.00 mm [0.20 in] diameter on 180.00 mm [7.09 in] centres. Inside, the RP1170BFC offers 157.73 mm [6.21 in] x 78.23 mm [3.08 in] of floor space and 49.40 mm [1.94 in] of inside height, and accepts a printed circuit board up to 157 mm x 77 mm. Board mounting posts accept M3 self-tapping screws.

The lid is secured with self-captivating M3.5 stainless steel machine screws, included, threaded into corrosion resistant bushings for repetitive assembly and disassembly. Hardware includes lid screws, PC board screws and the gasket. Optional inner panels are STC117 (plastic) and STA117 (aluminum), a replacement gasket 2-pack is RP117GASKET, and extra screws are available as SC619-50 (M3.5-0.6 x 10 mm lid screws) and SC622-50 (M3 x 6 mm PC board screws).
