Hammond RP1165BF 165x85x40mm ABS Watertight Box, Bottom Flange

The RP1165BF is a water-tight ABS plastic enclosure with an opaque lid and an integral bottom mounting flange, measuring 6.5 in x 3.35 in x 1.57 in (165 mm x 85 mm x 40 mm). It is a long, low 165 x 85 mm body only 40 mm tall, taking circuit boards up to 157 mm long with 34.40 mm of inside height. Designed to meet IP65, it suits OEM engineers, panel builders and electronics integrators who need to house printed circuit boards or components and bolt the box directly to a wall, panel or machine surface.

The body is general purpose ABS plastic with a UL94 HB flame rating, with an opaque lid that carries a smooth recessed area for a membrane, label or silkscreen. The part page lists the colour as Light Gray. A two-piece tongue and groove lid with a rubber gasket protects against access of oil, dust and water; the gasket is included and must be field installed.

According to the drawing, the flanged body is 194.95 mm [7.68 in] long overall, with flange mounting holes of 5.00 mm [0.20 in] diameter on 180.00 mm [7.09 in] centres. Inside, the RP1165BF offers 158.75 mm [6.25 in] x 78.75 mm [3.10 in] of floor space and 34.40 mm [1.35 in] of inside height, and accepts a printed circuit board up to 157 mm x 77 mm. Board mounting posts accept M3 self-tapping screws.

The lid is secured with self-captivating M3.5 stainless steel machine screws, included, threaded into corrosion resistant bushings for repetitive assembly and disassembly. Hardware includes lid screws, PC board screws and the gasket. Optional inner panels are STC117 (plastic) and STA117 (aluminum), a replacement gasket 2-pack is RP117GASKET, and extra screws are available as SC619-50 (M3.5-0.6 x 10 mm lid screws) and SC622-50 (M3 x 6 mm PC board screws).
