Hammond RP1020BF 65 x 60 x 40 mm Flanged Polycarbonate IP65 Enclosure

The RP1020BF is the smallest bottom flange model in the RP Series of water-tight enclosures: a polycarbonate box with an opaque lid measuring 65 x 60 x 40 mm (2.56 x 2.36 x 1.57 in). The integral bottom flange lets installers screw it directly to a wall, panel or machine frame, which suits sensors, small interface boards and compact controls.

Its drawing shows an overall length of 89.95 mm (3.54 in) including the flange, with flange mounting holes of 4.20 mm (0.17 in) diameter. Polycarbonate gives the RP1020BF a UL94 V-2 flame rating, and the part page lists the colour as Light Gray while the ordering table places it in the Off White Polycarbonate column.

The interior measures 59.16 x 54.16 x 35.00 mm (2.33 x 2.13 x 1.38 in), with room for a P.C. board up to 56 x 51 mm on posts that accept M3 self-tapping screws. The lid seals through two piece tongue & groove construction and a rubber gasket that is included and must be field installed, for an IP65 rating. Self captivating M3.5 stainless steel machine screws thread into corrosion resistant bushings, and a 0.40 mm deep recess in the lid accepts a membrane, label or silkscreen.

Series hardware includes lid screws, PC board screws and the gasket. The RP1020BF ships in a bag at 0.13 lbs (0.06 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Hammond notes that some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread locking compounds and cutting fluids, can damage or weaken plastic.
