The RMP908 is an internal aluminum chassis panel for the half-width RMC rack mount instrument enclosures. It gives designers a flat, natural-finish aluminum plate to mount circuit boards, terminal strips and components inside an 8.50 in wide by 8.00 in deep enclosure.
The panel measures 8.22 in wide by 6.00 in deep with a 0.50 in (13 mm) height (209 x 152 x 13 mm). The drawing shows 1.63 mm (0.06 in) aluminum stock with formed 12.70 mm (0.50 in) flanges. Its finish is natural aluminum, left uncoated.
The drawing lists three compatible enclosures for the RMP908: RMCS9018, RMCS9038 and RMCS9058, the 1U, 2U and 3U sizes of the 8.50 x 8.00 in RMC body. The panel attaches to the enclosure side panels with #6-32 x 1/2 in pan head screws; 4 screws are included, at a recommended torque of 8.8-9.7 lbf-in (100-110 cN-m). Replacement black inner panel screws are available as SC536BK-50 (50 pack).
The RMP908 is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a box at 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg). The panel can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t format for layout work.
