The RMCP1 is a 1U spare front or rear panel for RMC Series rack mount aluminum instrument enclosures, in textured black. It is intended for engineers and integrators who want a blank panel to machine for connectors, switches and displays, or who need to replace a damaged panel on an existing enclosure.
The RMCP1 is the textured black version, called out on the drawing as painted black textured, the same satin textured look the series uses for its enclosure finish. Smooth black (RMCP1BK) and beige (RMCP1CG) versions share the same dimensions.
The panel is aluminum and, per the part drawing, measures 1.73 in (44 mm) high by 16.72 in (425 mm) wide by .06 in (2 mm) thick; the series lists front and rear panels as 0.064" (1.6 mm) thick. It has a mounting height of 1.75 in, or 1U, and four countersunk mounting holes, Ø .16 in with a Ø .25 in x 82° countersink.
Replacement front and rear panels come in the full 17 in width only, so this panel suits the 17.00 in (432 mm) wide 1U enclosures: RMCS19018BK1/RMCV19018BK1 and RMCS190113BK1/RMCV190113BK1. The RMC assembly instructions fasten front and rear panels with #6-32 x 3/8" flat head screws, with a recommended screw torque of 8.9-9.4 lbf-in (100-110 cN-m). The series notes that panels are not grounded to the frame because of the finish, so the grounding method is up to the user.
