The Hammond RM4U18BRKT is the adjustable-depth rear bracket kit, a pair of rear rack ears for 4-post mounting of 4U RM Series rack-mount aluminum enclosures. It is for integrators and OEM builders who need to support the back of a deep chassis in a 4-post rack rather than hanging it from the front ears alone.
The series ordering table lists RM4U18BRKT as the adjustable-depth mounting bracket for the 4U, 16.60 in wide RM4U1918SBK/VBK (18 in deep), RM4U1922SBK/VBK (22 in deep) and RM4U1928SBK/VBK (28 in deep) enclosures. It adds a maximum of 16.00 in (406 mm) of depth to the chassis and is compatible with full 16.60" width versions only.
The drawing shows the kit as a rear support bracket and a rear extension bracket, 508.00 mm [20.000 in] long, with eighteen Ø4.78 mm [0.188 in] adjustment holes and 6-32 PEM nuts (4x). Supplied hardware: 8x #6 external tooth washers, 8x #6 flat washers, 8x #8 hex nuts, 8x #8 internal tooth washers, 8x 6-32 x 1/2" screws and 8x 8-32 x 1/2" screws. The 8x 10-32 clip nuts and 8x 10-32 x 1/2" screws for the rack rails are not supplied.
