Hammond RM3U1928VBK 3U 19" Rack Mount Enclosure, 28" Deep, Vented

The Hammond RM3U1928VBK is a 3U vented rack-mount / desktop instrument enclosure from the RM Series, measuring 5.25 in (133 mm) high, 16.60 in (422 mm) wide and 28.00 in (711 mm) deep. It is built for OEM engineers, test and measurement designers and integrators who need a lightweight, all-aluminum case that can mount in a standard 19 in rack using the included pair of rack mounting ears, or sit on a desktop.

This is the deepest 3U vented size in the RM Series, with Ø4.50 mm [0.177 in] vent holes in the top and bottom panels and RM3U18BRKT listed as its adjustable-depth rear bracket.

Construction uses extruded aluminum side panels and extruded aluminum front and rear panels, each 0.125" (3.2 mm) thick, with flat aluminum top and bottom panels 0.064" (1.6 mm) thick. The enclosure is finished in rugged textured black powder coat and uses a knockdown design that ships unassembled for easy handling and shipping protection. Because of the powder coat, panels are not grounded to the frame; the grounding method is determined by the customer.

Each assembly includes interchangeable front and rear, top and bottom, and side panel pairs, four self-adhesive rubber feet, assembly screws and speed nuts, and a pair of 19" rack mounting flanges with hardware. It accepts pull handle part number 1427P1BK, and the ordering table lists RM3U18BRKT as its adjustable-depth rear mounting bracket, sold in pairs.

The RM3U1928VBK is RoHS and REACH compliant, manufactured in North America, and ships in a box at 9.5 lbs (4.31 kg). Enclosures can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES for design work.
