The RM3U08BKFP is a replacement front or rear panel for the half-width 8.30 in 3U RM Series rack-mount aluminum enclosures (RM3U08 sizes). It is sold individually, so a builder can order a spare to machine for a new front-panel layout, replace a damaged panel, or keep a blank on hand for revisions without buying a whole enclosure.
In the series table the panel is listed at 5.25 in (133 mm) high by 8.30 in (211 mm) wide for a 3U chassis. The part drawing gives the panel itself as 204.47 mm [8.050 in] wide and 132.59 mm high, 3.18 mm [0.125 in] thick, with 2X Ø4.30 mm [0.169 in] holes (the short description names the panel by its drawing width).
Like the panels shipped with the enclosure, it is extruded aluminum 0.125" (3.2mm) thick with a black textured powder coat finish, and the front and rear panels of the series are interchangeable. Because the powder coat keeps panels from being grounded to the frame, plan your own grounding method when fitting connectors or controls.
