Hammond RL6465-F 150x100x90mm Flanged Gray ABS Project Enclosure

The RL6465-F is a light gray ABS plastic project enclosure from the RL Series (shallow lid), measuring 150 x 100 x 90 mm (5.91 in x 3.94 in x 3.54 in). It adds molded wall mounting flanges to the standard RL box, so it suits electronics that will be screwed to a wall or panel. It is intended for OEM engineers and integrators housing 150 mm-class boards that need extra headroom.

The two-part housing is molded in light gray general purpose ABS with a light texture and carries a UL94 HB flame rating. Both halves have a smooth recessed area for a membrane, label or silkscreen (0.30 mm inlay depth on the drawing), and P.C. board standoffs are molded into both halves. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54 and is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.

This is the 90 mm tall version of the 150 x 100 mm footprint (the RL6435 is the 60 mm version), with 84.40 mm of inside height. The drawing gives inside dimensions of 141.72 mm [5.58 in] long, 91.72 mm [3.61 in] wide and 84.40 mm [3.32 in] high. Maximum P.C. board size is 140.96 x 87.35 mm. Across the flanges the overall length is 181.87 mm [7.16 in]. Shipping weight is 0.47 lbs (0.21 kg), packed in a bag.

Each purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws. The box accepts M2.6 self-tapping screws for the board and M3 self-tapping screws for the lid, with a recommended torque of 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN.m). Replacement packs are SC617-50 (M3 x 25 mm lid screws, 50 pack) and SC519-50 (M2.6 x 6 mm PCB screws, 50 pack). The same size is offered as RL6465-FBK in black and RL6465 without flanges.

Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, as are .stp and .x_t solid models. ABS can be damaged by some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds and cutting or tapping fluid, so use plastic-safe cleaners only.
