Hammond RH40000N4GY PF4XX00 Type 4 Rainhood, ANSI 61 Gray Steel

The RH40000N4GY is a Type 4 filterfan rainhood that mounts over a PF 4XX00 Series Filterfan or PFA 40000 exhaust filter to shield the opening from spraying water. It is intended for panel builders and maintenance teams fitting filterfans to painted steel enclosures in locations with high exposure to spraying water. When combined with a PF Series Filterfan the assembly is UL / cUL Listed Type 4 and rated IPx6.

The cover is galvanized steel with an ANSI 61 Gray powder coated finish, a darker gray option to the RAL7035 Light Gray version, and it seals against the enclosure with a high compression, closed cell black gasket that uses multiple seal dams. The base mounting bracket is unpainted 304 stainless steel. Inside the hood, a direct spray barrier and baffle are designed to maximize airflow while protecting the cabinet from overspray.

Overall dimensions are 14.65 in (372 mm) high by 12.84 in (326 mm) wide by 3.56 in (90 mm) deep, with a nominal size of 15 in x 13 in x 4 in (381 mm x 330 mm x 102 mm). The drawing for RH40000N4GY shows a 10.15 in x 10.39 in cutout and four 0.28 in mounting holes. Shipping weight is 11 lbs (4.99 kg), and the rainhood is sold individually in a box.

Installation is simple: the mounting bracket is installed around the existing fan cutout and the rainhood slides down over the bracket. The tool-less design allows the hood to be removed for maintenance and filter mat replacement. De-energize the system before washdown; the rainhood will not prevent hazardous gases or humidity from entering the cabinet.

For extra protection, the RHA40000N4G galvanized steel grill/solid cover kit can be installed in the bottom opening of this hood. The part is REACH and RoHS compliant.
