Hammond RH20000N4S16FDA PF22000 Sanitary Type 4X Rain Hood, 316 Stainless

The RH20000N4S16FDA is an RHN4 Series filterfan rainhood rated Sanitary Type 4X / 316 Stainless Steel, sized for PF22000/PFA20000 units. When used with a PF Series Filterfan it forms a UL / cUL Listed Type 4X (IPx6) combination. It is the sanitary version intended for FDA compatible Type 4X installations, such as enclosures in food and beverage manufacturing facilities that are washed down and disinfected.

The cover is 316 stainless steel with #4 brushed finish, and the base mounting bracket is unpainted 304 stainless steel. The special FDA compatible white multiple seal gasket allows easy detection of any contamination and is free of potentially harmful color additives. A direct spray barrier/baffle is designed to maximize airflow while protecting the opening from overspray.

Overall dimensions are 10.44 in (265 mm) high, 8.70 in (221 mm) wide and 3.56 in (90 mm) deep; the part page lists a nominal size of 10.5 in x 9 in x 4 in (267 mm x 229 mm x 102 mm). The manufacturer drawing shows a 5.93 in x 6.18 in cutout and four Ø 0.28 in mounting holes. Shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg), packed in a box.

Installation is simple: the mounting bracket is installed around the existing cutout and the rainhood slides down over the bracket, and the tool-less design allows easy removal for maintenance and filter mat replacement. The manufacturer cautions that the system should be de-energized before washdown and that rainhoods will not prevent hazardous gases or humidity from entering the cabinet.
