Hammond RASV230520BK1 3U 23-Inch Vented Rack Shelf, 200 lb Capacity

The RASV230520BK1 is a 3U fixed, vented rack shelf built for 23-inch racks and cabinets. It gives IT, AV and industrial teams a stable platform for equipment that has no rack-mount ears — small servers, UPS units, amplifiers, media devices, peripherals and test gear — inside standard EIA-compliant racks. The vented shelf surface allows airflow around the equipment it supports, while the solid (un-vented) version of the same size is offered as RASU230520BK1 where maximum surface support is preferred.

Construction is mild steel with a textured black powder coat finish that is GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant, supporting indoor air quality and environmental compliance requirements. A stiffener lip folded up at the back adds rigidity to the shelf pan and helps keep equipment located on the shelf.

Mounting dimensions are 5.25 in (133 mm) high by 23.30 in (592 mm) wide with a 20.00 in (508 mm) depth, occupying 3U of rack height. The drawing shows an overall front panel width of 23.01 in (584 mm), a shelf width of 21.50 in (546 mm), 21.36 in (542 mm) inside, and a height of 5.22 in (133 mm). Eight ∅0.25 x 0.38 in slots are provided for attachment to the rack rails; the drawing notes that mounting hardware is not supplied with the shelf.

Suggested load capacity is 200 lbs (91 kg), and Hammond states the 23-inch shelves were tested to nearly double the suggested load rating. RASV230520BK1 can be installed internally as an equipment shelf or externally as a work surface. The optional RASCLAMP clamping arm accessory is available for 2U and 3U sizes for secure equipment retention. Shipping weight is 21 lbs (9.53 kg).
