Hammond R251-130-240 240mm Two-Piece Clam Shell Enclosure, 130mm Profile

The R251-130-240 is the two-piece "clam shell" body from the R250 Series mobilCASE family of extruded aluminum enclosures. It is designed to house P.C. boards (not included) or equipment for mobile use, giving OEM engineers and integrators a ready-made aluminum housing for portable electronic equipment. This size is 240 mm long, 168 mm wide and has a 130 mm profile width.

Internally, the extrusion is sized for standard Eurocards: P.C. boards mount horizontally by sliding into slots extruded into the enclosure body, and the series lists an internal height of 1.06" (27 mm). This is the two-piece version; the one-piece closed equivalent of this size is R250-130-240. The body is made of aluminum with a modern, ergonomic profile, and the part data lists the colour as Clear (Anodize).

Overall size is 9.45 in x 6.61 in x 5.12 in (240 mm x 168 mm x 130 mm), and the shipping weight is 0.5 lbs (0.23 kg). If you need a shorter case with the same 168 mm width and 130 mm profile, R251-130-180 is the 180 mm version.

End plates are ordered separately. For the two-piece 130 profile the series table lists flat cover plates R586-130-000 (the manufacturer part page for that number directs buyers to use R580-130-000), and the heavy duty diecast end plates are painted textured black (RAL 9005) and come with thermoplastic black gaskets and mounting hardware. With gasketed end plates, the two-piece version is rated to IP 54. Add the R583-130-000 shoulder strap and protective caps for use in rough surroundings, indoors or out, or join this body to a second extrusion side by side with variable cover plates such as R588-080-130, R588-100-130, R588-130-130.
