Hammond R250-130-240 240mm One-Piece mobilCASE Extrusion, 130mm Profile

The Hammond R250-130-240 is a one-piece extruded aluminum enclosure body from the R250 Series mobilCASE range, designed to house P.C. boards (not included) or equipment for mobile use. It measures 240 mm long x 168 mm wide with an 130 mm profile width (9.45 in x 6.61 in x 5.12 in), for OEM engineers building mobile equipment around standard board formats.

The body has a modern, ergonomic shape and is sized for standard Eurocards: P.C. boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots extruded into the enclosure, with an internal height of 1.06 in (27 mm). The series specification describes the extruded aluminum as powder paint coated in a silver metallic finish; the part data lists the color as Clear (Anodize).

As the one-piece closed version, the R250-130-240 is rated to IP 65 when fitted with the gasketed end plates, which are ordered separately. Compatible diecast aluminum end plates, painted textured black (RAL 9005) and supplied in pairs with thermoplastic black gaskets and mounting hardware, are R580-130-000 (flat) and R581-130-000 (collar style, for accepting cables or batteries). The collared plates also accept the R585-000-000 cable gland adaptor kit and the R584-002-000 or R584-004-000 AA battery holders.

For rough surroundings indoors or out, shoulder strap and protective cap set R583-130-000 (nylon straps, TPE shoulder pad and end caps) fits this body, and variable cover plates such as R588-080-130, R588-100-130, R588-130-130 join two extrusions side by side. The two-piece clam shell equivalent is R251-130-240, and the R250-130-180 is the same profile in a 180 mm length. The part ships in a box at 0.5 lbs (0.23 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
