Hammond R111-121-000 126x128x60 mm EMI/RFI Shielded Diecast Enclosure

The R111-121-000 is a watertight, EMI/RFI shielded diecast aluminum enclosure from the conFORM R110-111 series, built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and industrial controls builders who need a sealed housing that also shields its contents. It is the shallower of the two 125.5 x 127.5 mm footprint versions in the series; its counterpart, R110-121-000, is 90 mm deep with lid.

The part listing gives a size of 4.96 in x 5.04 in x 2.36 in (126 mm x 128 mm x 60 mm), and the series table lists it at 125.5 mm long x 127.5 mm wide with a depth with lid of 60 mm. Shipping weight is 1.87 lbs (0.85 kg). The body is diecast aluminum (GD Al Si 12/DIN 1725) finished in a textured polyester powder coat in light beige RAL 7032; unpainted enclosures can be supplied on special order.

Shielding relies on the patented EV joint: the lid's EMI/RFI edge extends into the enclosure and contacts integrated teeth in the enclosure body, giving metal-to-metal contact inside the gasket seal. Because that joint is protected from dirt and corrosion by the seal, no conductive gasket or screen is required. A silicone-free TPE gasket comes installed, and stainless steel lid hardware is included.

Screw and mounting holes sit outside the gasket seal, and enclosure holes are threaded for easy installation and disassembly. Internal mounting shelves along both sides include blind holes and grounding screws, with mounting holes for self-tapping screws in both enclosure and lid that can carry PC boards or plates. Optional zinc diecast external mounting feet, part R501-000-011, can be turned through 90º.

Protection is rated IP66, NEMA 4X and DIN 40050, and the part listing gives NEMA ratings 1, 4, 4X, 12 & 13. The series is CSA certified Type 4 for use with industrial control equipment, with a recommended operating range of -40ºC to +80ºC (-40ºF to 176ºF). The R111-121-000 is RoHS and REACH compliant.
