Hammond R100-244-035 240x480x120 mm Diecast Aluminum Enclosure, Light Gray

The R100-244-035 is a large, elongated watertight enclosure from the R100 Series of Type 4X diecast aluminum enclosures (aluNORM - Watertight, Thick Wall). It is the shallow-lid, deep-body version, finished in light gray (RAL7035) textured polyester powder coat, and is intended for OEM engineers, panel builders and electricians who need a sealed metal housing for larger control assemblies and multi-board electronics. The same size is offered in beige (RAL7032) as R100-244-000.

The body and lid are die-cast aluminum (G AI SI 12 / DIN 1775) with a thick-wall, water-tight design. A neoprene gasket that is oil and petrol resistant comes standard and the stainless steel lid screws are captive. Because of the patented single-channel system, the lid screws and the mounting holes sit outside the gasket seal, and the same channel is used both for mounting the enclosure and for the lid screws, giving more interior space than dual-channel enclosures.

Overall size with lid is 240 x 480 x 120 mm (width x length x depth), listed on the part page as 9.45 in x 18.9 in x 4.72 in (240 mm x 480 mm x 120 mm). The 240 x 480 mm rectangular footprint gives extra length for components arranged along one axis, and the maximum printed circuit board size is 462.9 mm long by 223 mm wide. Internal mounting shelves along both sides include blind holes and grounding screws, enclosure holes are threaded for easy installation and disassembly, and the shipping weight is 13 lbs (5.90 kg).

The R100-244-035 is rated IP66, CSA certified and UL Listed Type 4 for use with industrial control equipment, carries NEMA ratings of 1, 4, 4X, 12 & 13, operates from -40ºC up to +80ºC (-40ºF to 176ºF), and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Matching accessories for this size listed by the manufacturer:

The manufacturer's accessory table lists no external mounting feet for the 240 mm width; mount it through the single-channel holes instead.
