Hammond PWDP13225 Johnson Viking II Low-Voltage Power Transformer

The PWDP13225 is the low-voltage power transformer T-2 for the Johnson Viking II, cross-referenced to original part numbers 22.752 and P1893. It is one of the PWDAHL series Peter W Dahl Transformers, a line of magnetics for amateur radio products, and is suited to restorers bringing a Viking II back into service.

It runs from a 115 VAC, 60 Hz, single-phase primary. S1 is a tapped 298-70-0-70-298 VAC winding rated 250 mA CCS, S2 provides 6.3 VAC at 7 A CCS, and two further windings, S3 and S4, each deliver 5 VAC at 2 A CCS.

The PWDP13225 is built on an EI-125 x 2 lamination core, Style 5 on the transformer style sheet. Approximate weight is 7 lbs, and the shipping weight is 7 lbs (3.18 kg). It is marked RoHS compliant and REACH compliant, with UPC 623980398013.

The S1 winding is tapped at 298-70-0-70-298 VAC, so the PWDP13225 provides both the full 298 V and the lower 70 V points on each side of the center, all at a 250 mA CCS rating.

The design is listed for 60 Hz only; the series advises that 50 Hz users choose parts marked 50/60 Hz. Transformers in this series are usually built to order one at a time, so confirm availability before ordering.
