Hammond PKS3042A115N4SS 22 W/°C 115V Mini Type 4X Stainless Heat Exchanger

The PKS3042A115N4SS is a compact closed loop air to air heat exchanger from the PKSMINI Series (Air to Air Heat Exchangers - Mini Type 4X), rated 22 W/°C (12 W/°F) and powered from a 115V 60 Hz supply. It is the smaller of the two mini units, and it is designed for indoor, outdoor, corrosive outdoor or washdown applications, dissipating heat from switch cabinets.

Air to air heat exchangers work when the surrounding air is cooler than the target temperature inside the enclosure, by a difference of at least 10°C/18°F. The closed loop keeps clean enclosure air recirculating without ever mixing with contaminated ambient air. At a 20°C/36°F difference between ambient and target internal temperature, the PKS3042A115N4SS delivers a sample performance of 440W (1400 BTU); actual performance depends on that ΔT. The technical sheet lists power consumption of 82 W, a maximum starting current of 0.72 A and a 6 ft (1.8 m) NEMA 5-15 line cord for the 115 VAC model, with an ambient operating range of -25°C/-13°F to +55°C/+131°F.

The unit measures 12.00 in (305 mm) high, 12.00 in (305 mm) wide and 7.89 in (200 mm) deep, with a shipping weight of 17 lbs (7.71 kg). The cover is unpainted 316 stainless steel and the mounting plate is electrostatically powder coated aluminum. It maintains the enclosure's NEMA 4X rating, is rated IP 56 and carries UR, cUR and CE marks; EMI/RFI suppression meets CE and the refrigerant is R134a.

A gasket, mounting kit and template for the cutout and drilling are included, and the unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Keep at least 153 mm between units and from walls, and tighten the fasteners so the seal is fully compressed (20 in-lbs). Remote door switches and gasket kits are listed as accessories.
