Hammond PJU181610TF 18x16x10 Solid Cover Type 4X Fiberglass Box, Flange

The PJU181610TF is a 18 x 16 x 10 Type 4X non-metallic junction box from the PJU Series with a solid cover and a mounting flange. It is built for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and suits sites where equipment may be hosed down, is very wet, runs hot or sits in a highly corrosive environment.

Construction is a compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester box with a matching solid fiberglass reinforced polyester cover, finished in gray and protected by enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. The box and cover are easily punched, cut or drilled for glands and devices. A molded hinge with a stainless steel hinge pin carries the door, which closes with (2) stainless steel lockable twist latches featuring a padlocking provision and seals on a captive oil resistant closed cell neoprene gasket.

The enclosure measures 18.30 in (465 mm) high, 16.52 in (420 mm) wide and 10.13 in (257 mm) deep, with a shipping weight of 16 lbs (7.26 kg). Threaded brass inserts accept the optional P1868 inner panel, which measures 16.88 in (429 mm) by 14.88 in (378 mm); optional panels are offered in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass. It mounts on two glued polycarbonate flanges: (2) polycarbonate flanges (glued) with (4) #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel flange and feet screws. Mounting hardware is included.

The PJU Series is listed to UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated for operating temperatures from -40°C to 130°C (-40°F to 266°F) with an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb). The PJU181610TF is RoHS and REACH compliant.
