Hammond PJU16148CCTF 16x14x8 Clear Cover Type 4X Fiberglass Box, Flange

The PJU16148CCTF is a 16 x 14 x 8 Type 4X non-metallic junction box from the PJU Series with a clear polycarbonate cover and a mounting flange. It is built for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and suits sites where equipment may be hosed down, is very wet, runs hot or sits in a highly corrosive environment.

Construction is a compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester box fitted with a clear polycarbonate cover, finished in gray and protected by enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. The box and cover are easily punched, cut or drilled for glands and devices. A molded hinge with a stainless steel hinge pin carries the door, which closes with (2) stainless steel lockable twist latches featuring a padlocking provision and seals on a captive oil resistant closed cell neoprene gasket.

The enclosure measures 16.05 in (408 mm) high, 14.27 in (362 mm) wide and 8.13 in (207 mm) deep, with a shipping weight of 12 lbs (5.44 kg). Threaded brass inserts accept the optional 14R1513 inner panel, which measures 14.75 in (375 mm) by 12.88 in (327 mm); optional panels are offered in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass. It mounts on two glued polycarbonate flanges: (2) polycarbonate flanges (glued) with (4) #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel flange and feet screws. Mounting hardware is included.

The PJU Series is listed to UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated for operating temperatures from -40°C to 130°C (-40°F to 266°F) with an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb). The PJU16148CCTF is RoHS and REACH compliant.
