Hammond PJU1086L 10x8x6 Solid Cover Type 4X Box with Mounting Feet

The PJU1086L is a solid-cover fiberglass polyester junction box measuring 10.05 x 8.27 x 6.13 in (255 x 210 x 156 mm), mounted on four polycarbonate feet. Compared with the 4.13 in deep PJU1084L it adds two inches of depth in the same footprint, useful for bulkier terminations, devices or control components.

The PJU Series is intended for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures in hose-down, very wet, high-temperature or highly corrosive settings. It is rated UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and IEC 60529 IP66.

The box and matching cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors. The drawing shows a 0.14 in (3.68 mm) wall, and the material is easily punched, cut or drilled. On this size, the hinge pin and the lockable snap latch are 316 stainless steel; the fasteners include a padlocking provision, and a formed-in-place polyurethane gasket seals the door.

Four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws accept the optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), available in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, or 0.125 in fiberglass. The feet are fixed with #10-32 brass inserts and 316 stainless steel screws; the drawing gives 0.32 in (8.17 mm) holes on 10.75 in (273.04 mm) vertical centers and 11.47 in (291.28 mm) overall height. Rated 130°C to -40°C with a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index; shipping weight 6 lbs (2.72 kg); RoHS and REACH compliant.
