Hammond PJHMI1210CCHTP 12x10 Clear HMI Hinged Cover, Tamperproof Screws

The PJHMI1210CCHTP is a clear polycarbonate HMI hinged cover kit with a tamperproof screw closure, part of the PJHMI Series. It mounts over an opening in an enclosure wall to protect instruments or electronics requiring routine attention or detail. Because the cover is clear polycarbonate thermoplastic, the display behind it stays visible while the cover is closed. Tamperproof screws guard against casual opening.

The frame measures 11.93 in (303 mm) high by 10.15 in (258 mm) wide by 2.27 in (58 mm) deep (nominal size 12 in x 10 in x 2 in (305 mm x 254 mm x 51 mm)), and the viewing area is 10.47 in (266 mm) by 8.69 in (221 mm). Maximum panel cutout is 10.47 x 8.69 in, and it will fit enclosure sizes 14x12 and larger. Shipping weight is 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg).

The box is injection polycarbonate and the cover is injected polycarbonate, hung on a 316 stainless steel hinge pin and sealed by a Formed-In-Place (FIP) polyurethane gasket in a continuous channel. The cover is secured by two #10-32 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel captive tamperproof cover screws and retaining O-rings. It is UV stabilized for outdoor use, with a service temperature of -31°F (-35°C) to 266°F (130°C).

To install, mark and drill the mounting holes at 7/32 or #2 (.220 dia) (hole pattern HMI120), cut the opening, clean the surface and gasket, and mount with the supplied hardware torqued to 15 - 20 in-lbs using a Phillips screwdriver or similar tool. The hardware suits surfaces .059" to .250" thick. One hardware kit is included (8 fasteners needed), each kit with ten 10-32 x 1 pan head screws, ten stainless steel washer rivets and ten 10-32 nylon-insert nuts.

The PJHMI1210CCHTP is a listed UL component (UL File E487574) for use with enclosures rated Types 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13, and is CSA listed Type 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. Optional prop arm: PJHMIPROP1210; the opaque version of this kit is PJHMI1210HTP.
