Hammond PJHMI108H 10x8 Opaque Gray HMI Hinged Cover Kit, Screw Closure

The PJHMI108H is a light gray opaque polycarbonate HMI hinged cover kit with a screw closure, part of the PJHMI Series. It mounts over an opening in an enclosure wall to protect instruments or electronics requiring routine attention or detail. The cover is light gray solid opaque polycarbonate, concealing the device behind it when closed. Its hinged screw cover swings open for service and screws closed.

The frame measures 9.93 in (252 mm) high by 8.15 in (207 mm) wide by 2.27 in (58 mm) deep (nominal size 10 in x 8 in x 2 in (254 mm x 203 mm x 51 mm)), and the viewing area is 8.47 in (215 mm) by 6.69 in (170 mm). Maximum panel cutout is 8.47 x 6.69 in, and it will fit enclosure sizes 12x10 and larger. Shipping weight is 2.5 lbs (1.13 kg).

The box is injection polycarbonate and the cover is injection polycarbonate, hung on a 316 stainless steel hinge pin and sealed by a Formed-In-Place (FIP) polyurethane gasket in a continuous channel. The cover is secured by two #10-32 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel captive cover screws and O-rings. It is UV stabilized for outdoor use, with a service temperature of -31°F (-35°C) to 266°F (130°C).

To install, mark and drill the mounting holes at 7/32 or #2 (.220 dia) (hole pattern HMI108), cut the opening, clean the surface and gasket, and mount with the supplied hardware torqued to 15 - 20 in-lbs using a Phillips screwdriver or similar tool. The hardware suits surfaces .059" to .250" thick. One hardware kit is included (8 fasteners needed), each kit with ten 10-32 x 1 pan head screws, ten stainless steel washer rivets and ten 10-32 nylon-insert nuts.

The PJHMI108H is a listed UL component (UL File E487574) for use with enclosures rated Types 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13, and is CSA listed Type 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. Optional prop arm: PJHMIPROP108; the clear version of this kit is PJHMI108CCH.
