Hammond PJ20168RL 20x16x8 In Type 4X Solid Raised Lid Fiberglass Box

The PJ20168RL is a 20 x 16 x 8 PJ series enclosure with a solid raised lid, measuring 20.00 x 16.00 x 8.13 in (508 x 406 x 207 mm). The taller format gives more panel area for installers working in wet, hosed-down, hot or corrosive areas where a non-metallic enclosure is preferred.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors, and are easily punched, cut or drilled. The drawing for this size shows a 316 stainless steel hinge, (2X) 316 stainless steel lockable snap latches and an FIP polyurethane gasket, with a .14 in (3.56 mm) wall thickness. The series gasket is captive and oil resistant, and the latches allow padlocking.

The optional P2068 inner panel, 18.44 x 14.44 in (468 x 367 mm), fastens to four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. The drawing gives optional back panel thicknesses of 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.250 in fiberglass. Four 316 stainless steel feet attach on #10-32 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws, with .34 in (8.74 mm) foot holes.

The PJ20168RL carries UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) ratings and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) with a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, shipping weight 17 lbs (7.71 kg).
