The PJ18168R is an 18.40 in H x 16.40 in W x 8.13 in D (467 x 417 x 207 mm) Type 4X wallmount junction box with a raised lift-off solid cover. Molded in fiberglass reinforced polyester, it is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures in wet, hot or corrosive settings.
Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering. The drawing shows a 0.14 in (3.57 mm) wall, and the material is easily punched, cut or drilled. It is rated for an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) and operating temperatures of 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F).
The cover is held by four 316 stainless steel captive screws with retaining O-rings in #10-32 brass inserts and seals on a captive oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket. Listings include UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and the enclosure complies with IEC 60529 IP66. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
Four 316 stainless steel feet mount to rear brass inserts with 316 stainless screws. The optional P1868 inner panel is 16.88 x 14.88 in (429 x 378 mm); back panel options on the drawing include 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.250 in fiberglass. The PJ18168R ships at 16 lbs (7.26 kg).
