Hammond PJ1084 10x8x4 Fiberglass Type 4X/6P Junction Box

The PJ1084 is a 10.13 in H x 8.26 in W x 4.13 in D (257 x 210 x 105 mm) Type 4X polyester junction box with a lift-off screw cover. It belongs to the PJ Series, built for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and it gives insulation and protection where equipment may be hosed down or be very wet.

The enclosure and matching cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester finished in gray. The material is easily punched, cut or drilled, and enhanced UV inhibitors protect against outdoor weathering. The cover is held by four stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings in #10-32 brass inserts, sealing on a captive, oil resistant closed cell neoprene gasket.

Four stainless steel mounting feet fasten to brass inserts at the rear with stainless steel screws; with the feet fitted the drawing shows 11.84 in (300.65 mm) overall height. Internal #10-32 threaded brass inserts accept the optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), or a terminal kit, and mounting hardware is included. The PJ1084 ships at 5 lbs (2.27 kg).

This lift-off cover model is listed Type 6P and rated IP68, in addition to UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. Operating temperature is 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) with an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb). RoHS and REACH compliant; the hinged cover equivalent is PJ1084H.
