Hammond PCJ864CCNLF 8x6x4 Clear Cover Snap-Latch Polycarbonate Box, Flange

The Hammond PCJ864CCNLF is a Type 4X polycarbonate junction box from the PCJ Series with a non-metallic latch cover, a clear polycarbonate cover and polycarbonate flanges for mounting. It is built to insulate and protect controls and components indoors or outdoors, including pump control, irrigation and chemical plant work.

The 8 x 6 x 4 inch nominal body gives a taller rectangular layout than the 6 x 6 box with the same 3.98 in depth. The ordering table lists the enclosure at 7.94 in (202 mm) high, 6.16 in (156 mm) wide and 3.98 in (101 mm) deep (nominal size 8 in x 6 in x 4 in (203 mm x 152 mm x 102 mm)), and the matching optional inner panel, part no. PCJR0705, measures 6.75 in (171 mm) x 4.88 in (124 mm). Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).

Box and cover are injected polycarbonate that is easily punched, cut or drilled, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. The polycarbonate body has a light gray finish. The clear cover allows a view of the contents without opening the box. Closure is by non-metallic lockable snap latch located on center, and the series notes a provision for padlocking on snap latches. The cover swings on a stainless steel hinge pin and seals against a closed cell neoprene gasket.

For installation, this model ships with (2) polycarbonate flanges (glued) secured with (4) #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel flange and feet screws. Inside, (4) #10-32 brass inserts and plated carbon steel truss screw are provided for mounting the optional back panel, which the drawing shows in 0.100 in (2.54 mm) aluminum or 0.075 in (1.91 mm) white steel.

Series standards: UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, IEC 60529 IP66, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant; operating range is -35 °C to 130 °C (-31 °F to 266 °F).
