Hammond PCJ443NL 4x4x3 Snap-Latch Polycarbonate Junction Box, Feet Mount

The Hammond PCJ443NL is a Type 4X polycarbonate junction box from the PCJ Series with a non-metallic latch cover, a solid polycarbonate cover and polycarbonate feet for mounting. It is built to insulate and protect controls and components indoors or outdoors, including pump control, irrigation and chemical plant work.

The 4 x 4 x 3 inch nominal body is the smallest size in the family, suited to small component counts. The ordering table lists the enclosure at 3.95 in (100 mm) high, 3.95 in (100 mm) wide and 3.31 in (84 mm) deep (nominal size 4 in x 4 in x 3 in (102 mm x 102 mm x 76 mm)), and the matching optional inner panel, part no. PCJR0303, measures 3.56 in (90 mm) x 3.56 in (90 mm). The drawing calls out a wall thickness of 0.14 in (3.68 mm). Shipping weight is 2 lbs (0.91 kg).

Box and cover are injected polycarbonate that is easily punched, cut or drilled, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. The polycarbonate has a light gray finish. Closure is by lockable snap latches, and the series notes a provision for padlocking on snap latches. The cover swings on a 316 stainless steel hinge pin and seals against a FIP polyurethane gasket.

For installation, this model ships with (4) polycarbonate feet secured with (4) 316 stainless steel flange and feet screws. Inside, (4) 316 stainless steel panel screws are provided for mounting the optional back panel, which the drawing shows in 0.100 in (2.54 mm) aluminum, 0.075 in (1.91 mm) white steel or 0.188 in (4.78 mm) PVC.

Series standards: UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, IEC 60529 IP66, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant; operating range is -35 °C to 130 °C (-31 °F to 266 °F).
