Hammond PCJ16148CCHF 16x14x8 Clear Cover Hinged Polycarbonate Box, Flanged

The Hammond PCJ16148CCHF is a Type 4X polycarbonate junction box from the PCJ Series with a hinged screw cover, a clear polycarbonate cover and polycarbonate flanges for mounting. It is designed to insulate and protect controls and components indoors or outdoors, in settings such as pump controls, waste water, irrigation and solar/wind sites.

The 16 x 14 x 8 inch nominal body steps up to a 7.81 in depth for components that need more front-to-back room. The ordering table lists the enclosure at 15.98 in (406 mm) high, 13.98 in (355 mm) wide and 7.81 in (198 mm) deep (nominal size 16 in x 14 in x 8 in (406 mm x 356 mm x 203 mm)), and the matching optional inner panel, part no. 14R1513, measures 14.75 in (375 mm) x 12.88 in (327 mm). The drawing calls out a wall thickness of 0.19 in (4.8 mm). Shipping weight is 8 lbs (3.63 kg).

Box and cover are injected polycarbonate that is easily punched, cut or drilled, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. The polycarbonate body has a light gray finish. The clear cover allows a view of the contents without opening the box. The cover is secured by (2X) #10-32 brass inserts and 316 stainless steel captive cover screw and seals against a FIP polyurethane gasket; the hinge is specified as (4X) snap-in polycarbonate hinge knuckle.

For installation, this model ships with (2X) polycarbonate flanges (glued) secured with (6X) #10-32 brass inserts, stainless steel flange and feet screws. Inside, (4X) #10-32 brass inserts and plated carbon truss screw are provided for mounting the optional back panel, which the drawing shows in 0.100 in (2.54 mm) aluminum, 0.075 in (1.91 mm) white steel or 0.188 in (4.78 mm) PVC.

Series standards: UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, IEC 60529 IP66, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant; operating range is -35 °C to 130 °C (-31 °F to 266 °F).
