Hammond PCJ1082H 10x8x2 in Type 4X Polycarbonate Box, Solid Cover, Feet

The PCJ1082H is a 10 x 8 x 2 in Type 4X polycarbonate junction box with a solid, hinged screw cover and polycarbonate mounting feet. Body and cover are injected polycarbonate in a light gray finish, giving a non-metallic housing designed to insulate and protect controls and components in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Typical duty includes industrial pump controls, waste water and irrigation control, plus solar/wind and chemical plant installations.

This is the shallow member of the 10 x 8 family: 9.93 in (252 mm) high and 8.15 in (207 mm) wide but only 2.70 in (69 mm) deep, the shallowest depth in the PCJ series ordering table. It takes the PCJR0907 inner panel, 8.75 in x 6.88 in (222 mm x 175 mm), on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel truss screws. The drawing for this size calls for a FIP polyurethane gasket, a 316 stainless steel hinge pin and 316 stainless steel captive cover screws fitted with a retaining O-ring. The drawing prints the white steel panel option as 0.075 in [1.19 mm] thick.

Mounting is by four polycarbonate feet fixed with 316 stainless steel flange and feet screws into #10-32 brass inserts. The drawing shows four .32 in (8.17 mm) mounting holes at 10.75 in (273.04 mm) by 6.91 in (175.45 mm) centers, and mounting hardware is included.

Across the PCJ series the enclosure is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed as Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with the same NEMA Types, and is rated IP66 per IEC 60529, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. It operates from -35°C to 130°C (-31°F to 266°F), has a 16 J (12 ft/lb) impact index, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
