The N1WF20164 is a 20 x 16 x 4 inch three-piece flushmount enclosure rated UL 50 Type 1 and CSA Type 1. It gives a larger recessed mounting area for indoor controls, instruments and components that do not need oil-tight or dust-tight protection.
The design is a three-piece assembly: a base, a wrapper and a door, attached and secured with metal screws. The 14 gauge reverse formed base acts as the mounting surface, so there is no separate inner panel, and it provides clearance for mounting hardware. Components can be mounted and wired on the base before the wrapper and door are installed.
Nominal size of the N1WF20164 is 20 x 16 x 4 inches (508 mm x 406 mm x 102 mm). The part drawing shows an overall front face of 22.50 x 18.50 inches and an overall depth of 4.13 inches. Shipping weight is 22 lbs (9.98 kg), packed in a box.
The wrapper is formed from 16 gauge steel with no knock-outs in the sides, and the flush mounting door assembly is also 16 gauge steel. The base is punched for left or right hinging of the door, which fastens with a slotted quarter-turn latch. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding screw for the enclosure. All three pieces are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating; a Type 1 lock kit and padlock adaptor are listed as accessories.
The series is rated UL 50 Type 1 and CSA Type 1 and complies with NEMA Type 1 and IEC 60529 IP20. This part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
