Hammond N1J10106 10x10x6" Type 1 Hinged Steel Enclosure, Panel

The N1J10106 offers the same 10 x 10 inch square face as the N1J10104 with a 6-inch depth for bulkier components. It is suited to indoor controls whose components need more height above the 8.25 x 8.25 inch panel than a 4-inch box allows.

Construction is 16 gauge formed and spot welded steel. The formed steel cover is a full-swing door on butt hinges, held closed by a slotted quarter-turn latch, and the supplied inner panel is cut from 14 gauge steel. The enclosure and cover carry an ANSI 61 gray powder coat and the inner panel is finished in white powder coating. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the box.

Nominal dimensions for the N1J10106 are 10 x 10 x 6 inches (254 mm x 254 mm x 152 mm), with a 8.25 x 8.25 inch inner panel. Per the part drawing, the door opening is 9.00 x 9.00 inches and the door itself measures 10.38 x 10.30 inches. The drawing shows an overall depth of 6.12 inches including the door. Shipping weight is 11 lbs (4.99 kg).

Through holes in the back allow direct wall mounting. Series accessories include additional inner panels, perforated inner panels and a Type 1 lock kit.

The enclosure is rated UL-50 Type 1 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 1 (certificate LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 1 and IEC 60529 IP20. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the N1J series is listed on the manufacturer's EU declaration of conformity to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
