Hammond N1A423012 42x30x12" 12 Gauge Type 1 Wallmount Enclosure

The N1A423012 is a 42 x 30 x 12 inch Type 1 wallmount enclosure built in heavier 12 gauge steel, one of three N1A sizes the manufacturer marks for 12 gauge construction. It is suited to OEM machine builders and facilities teams housing indoor controls, instruments and components that do not need oil-tight or dust-tight protection.

The body is formed and spot welded from 12 gauge steel, and the removable 12 gauge inner panel sits on collar studs at the rear of the enclosure. The enclosure and door are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating, while the inner panel is white powder coated for good visibility when laying out and wiring components. A bonding stud is fitted on the door and a grounding stud in the box.

Nominal size is 42 x 30 x 12 inches (1,067 mm x 762 mm x 305 mm), and the inner panel measures 38.00 x 28.50 inches. The drawing for N1A423012 shows a door opening of 40.75 x 28.75 inches and an overall depth of 12.22 inches including the door. Shipping weight is 159 lbs (72.12 kg).

Because this door is taller than 36 inches it rides on a continuous piano hinge, and it is secured by two slotted quarter-turn latches, as specified for N1A doors 30 inches and higher. Mounting holes are provided in the rear for wall installation, and the optional N1AMFK mounting foot kit (set of 4 feet) offers an alternative wall-mounting method. Accessories for the series include additional and perforated inner panels, a Type 1 lock kit, ventilation, window kits and a padlock adaptor.

The enclosure is rated UL 50 Type 1 and CSA Type 1 (UL File E71072, CSA certificate LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 1 and IEC 60529 IP20. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the N1A series is covered by the manufacturer's EU declaration of conformity to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
