The MIKIT is a mechanical interlock kit designed to interlock the doors of 2 door cabinets that feature handles (not clamps) and a center-post design. It is intended for panel builders and maintenance teams working with Hammond series that do not include a mechanical interlock as standard, and either door can be made the master door with this kit.
In operation, the cam on the slave door is held in place until the master door is opened, so the slave door stays secured while the master door is closed. Hammond states that fitting the kit does not compromise the approval rating of the enclosure.
The kit is formed from 10 gauge 304 stainless steel and the finish is unpainted. It includes:
- Base plate
- Spring
- Right and left slave bracket (user chooses the appropriate one)
- Mounting hardware
Hammond lists the MIKIT for installation on HN4FM, HN4WM and HN4FS 2 door units, in either mild steel or stainless steel versions of those enclosures. The kit ships boxed at 2 lbs (0.91 kg) and is REACH and RoHS compliant. The part drawing shows the bracket for the right-hand slave and the kit assembled as a left-hand slave.
