The MHKD3SS is a 6" padlocking defeater handle kit with a 3-point latch, in the greater-than-60" version, made in 316 stainless steel. It is part of the MHK Series of Type 12/4, 4X handle kits and suits panel builders, electricians and OEM engineers specifying a defeater-equipped, padlockable operating handle for a Hammond Type 4X stainless enclosure.
Construction is 316 stainless steel, and the handle kit carries a NEMA 4X rating in the MHK ordering table. Hammond states that the handle maintains the NEMA rating of the enclosure it is fitted to, and a removable handle stop lets the handle be set up for either clockwise or counter-clockwise operation.
This is the 3-point latch configuration designated greater than 60" (Hammond description: "6” SS PADLOCKING DEFEATER 3PT > 60”"); a less-than-60" version is listed separately in the series. The part drawing shows an overall dimension of 80.41, and the kit ships boxed at 6.1 lbs (2.77 kg).
Hammond specifies the handle for field installation on its 1418, 1422, UHD, HN4, HWHK enclosures with a minimum enclosure height of 24" (600mm); factory installation is optionally available by contacting Hammond. The MHKD3SS is REACH and RoHS compliant.
