Hammond HW483612GYHK 48x36x12 in Type 4 Hinged Steel Wallmount Enclosure

The HW483612GYHK is a Type 4 mild steel wallmount enclosure from the HWHK Series, measuring 48 x 36 x 12 in (1,219 mm x 914 mm x 305 mm) with a hinged door and handle. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it against harsh industrial environments, including locations where equipment may be hosed down or otherwise be very wet, and outdoor installations that need full weather protection. Processing plants, utilities, outdoor municipal sites and petrochemical locations where easy yet secure access is required are typical applications.

The body and door are formed from 14 gauge steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth. A formed lip on the enclosure helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door. The door is secured by a powder coated black zinc diecast, pad lockable handle driving a 3-point roller latching system, and it hangs on a stainless steel continuous hinge that can be removed by pulling the stainless steel hinge pin. The enclosure is finished inside and out in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

Its 12 in depth sits in the upper-middle of the HWHK range, which spans 6 in to 16 in deep. The manufacturer drawing shows a door opening of 33.20 in x 45.20 in (W x H) and Ø0.44 in wall-mounting holes on 30.00 in x 49.25 in centres. Collar studs are provided for an inner panel; the matching optional inner panel is part 18P4533, 45 in x 33 in (H x W). A bonding stud is fitted on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure.

The HWHK Series is listed to UL 508A Type 3R, 4 and 12 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 4 and 12 (CSA Cert. LR21001), and complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The HW483612GYHK is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships boxed at 182 lbs (82.55 kg).
