Hammond HW42368S16HK 42x36x8 In 316 Stainless Type 4X Wallmount Enclosure

Built for wallmount applications in harsh industrial settings, the HW42368S16HK is a 42 x 36 x 8 in (1,067 mm x 914 mm x 203 mm) Type 4X enclosure with a hinged door and handle. It gives electrical and electronic equipment a high level of protection where it may be hosed down or otherwise exposed to wet, corrosive conditions.

This is the 316 stainless steel version, formed from 14 gauge 316 stainless steel; the equivalent 304 stainless steel model is HW42368SSHK. Seams are continuously welded and ground smooth, and a formed lip on the enclosure helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. The door closes on a seamless poured-in-place gasket and is secured by a 316 stainless pad lockable handle with a 3 point roller latching system. The stainless steel continuous hinge can be removed by pulling the stainless steel hinge pin. The cover and enclosure are natural stainless steel with a smooth brushed finish.

According to the part drawing, the door opening is 33.21 in wide x 39.21 in high, the door itself measures 34.23 in x 40.25 in, and the overall height is 44.25 in with an overall depth of 9.23 in. Collar studs are provided for mounting an inner panel; the optional inner panel for this size is 18P3933, measuring 39.00 in H x 33.00 in W. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure. Shipping weight is 143 lbs (64.86 kg).

The series is listed to UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 (CSA Cert. LR21001), and complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP 66. The HW42368S16HK is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the HWSSHK series is covered by a declaration of conformity to the EU Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
