Hammond HW242010GYHK 24x20x10 in Type 4 Hinged Steel Wallmount Enclosure

The HW242010GYHK is a Type 4 mild steel wallmount enclosure from the HWHK Series, measuring 24 x 20 x 10 in (610 mm x 508 mm x 254 mm) with a hinged door and handle. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it against harsh industrial environments, including locations where equipment may be hosed down or otherwise be very wet, and outdoor installations that need full weather protection. Processing plants, utilities, outdoor municipal sites and petrochemical locations where easy yet secure access is required are typical applications.

The body and door are formed from 14 gauge steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth. A formed lip on the enclosure helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door. The door is secured by a powder coated black zinc diecast, pad lockable handle driving a 3-point roller latching system, and it hangs on a stainless steel continuous hinge that can be removed by pulling the stainless steel hinge pin. The enclosure is finished inside and out in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

The 10 in depth is the mid-depth option in the HWHK range, which spans 6 in to 16 in deep. At 24 in tall it is the most compact height offered in the series. The manufacturer drawing shows a door opening of 18.19 in x 21.22 in (W x H) and Ø0.44 in wall-mounting holes on 14.00 in x 25.25 in centres. Collar studs are provided for an inner panel; the matching optional inner panel is part 18P2117, 21 in x 17 in (H x W). A bonding stud is fitted on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure.

The HWHK Series is listed to UL 508A Type 3R, 4 and 12 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 4 and 12 (CSA Cert. LR21001), and complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The HW242010GYHK is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships boxed at 60 lbs (27.22 kg).
