Hammond HMET1885 1800x800x500mm Type 12 Two-Door Modular Enclosure

The HMET1885 is a Type 12 mild steel two-door modular freestanding enclosure measuring 1800 mm high, 800 mm wide and 500 mm deep (70.87 x 31.50 x 19.69 in). It gives control panel builders, OEM machine builders and plant electrical teams a rugged housing for industrial control and operator interface equipment, and its modular design permits joining units together for large scale and mixed use applications. At 1800 mm high and 800 mm wide, the series also lists 600 mm deep versions, so this 500 mm depth is one of 2 depth options at this footprint.

Construction is formed 14 gauge steel with a fully welded frame carrying a 25mm hole pattern for component and accessory mounting. Two overlapping solid front doors open 135°; the primary door is secured with a double-bit key and the secondary door with hidden quarter turn latches, and the doors can be interchanged, removed or reversed. Foam gasket on all openings provides a dust-tight seal, and the exterior is phosphatized and finished in RAL 7035 light gray textured powder coating. Rear access is through removable rear cover panels.

Each unit is configured with a removable solid top panel, four lifting eyebolts, a removable bottom panel with gland plates and a full width inner mounting panel. On the HMET1885 the inner panel measures 1696 x 699 mm (66.77 x 27.52 in) and is unpainted galvanized 12 gauge steel (some larger inner panels may be substituted with painted steel versions due to galvanized sheet shortages). The drawing shows a ('512', '20.14') x ('206', '8.13') mm gland plate cutout.

The enclosure is listed to UL 508A Type 12 and CSA Type 12 and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54. Side panels are optional and sold separately in pairs. Shipping weight is 300 lbs (136.08 kg), delivered on a skid.
