Hammond HMEDW148 1400 x 800 mm Window Door, Polycarbonate Viewing Panel

The HMEDW148 is a window door for Hammond HME Single Door Series modular freestanding enclosures, sized to fit a 1400 x 800 mm cabinet (55.12 in (1400 mm) high by 31.50 in (800 mm) wide). It is the wider 800 mm version of the 1400 mm door in the HMEWD Series, and replaces a solid door where panel builders, maintenance teams and OEM engineers want to see indicator lights, meters and equipment without opening the enclosure.

The door is steel, painted textured gray RAL7035 (listed as Steel/Lt Gray), with a clear UL 94-HB polycarbonate window that provides maximum viewing area of the enclosure equipment. For the HMEDW148 the viewing area is 47.99 in (1219 mm) high by 25.00 in (635 mm) wide. The series table lists its E dimension as 2.64 in (67 mm). The part drawing shows an overall door size of 1353 mm (53.25 in) high by 799 mm (31.47 in) wide, with a window opening of 1218 mm (47.94 in) by 633 mm (24.94 in).

Hardware shown on the drawing includes an escutcheon handle with four point latching, and the series specifies a double bit insert latching mechanism. The door opens 135° and is removable and reversible for left or right hand opening, so the swing can suit the site layout.

The window door maintains the NEMA/UL/CSA Type 12 rating of the HME cabinet. It is intended for the HME Single Door Series only; Hammond notes that compatibility with HFMD and HFMDT enclosures should be checked before ordering.
