Hammond HJ161410LP 16x14x10 Inch Lift-Off Cover Type 4/12 Junction Box

The HJ161410LP is a 16 x 14 x 10 in (406 x 356 x 254 mm) Type 4 and Type 12 mild steel junction box from the HJ Series, fitted with a lift-off cover secured by clamps. Its 10 in depth leaves extra room for taller components, terminal blocks and cable bend space. It is designed for use as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure, and provides a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water.

The body is formed from 16 gauge or 14 gauge steel and the cover from 14 gauge steel. Seams are smooth and continuously welded, with no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The lift-off cover seals against a seamless poured-in-place gasket, is secured with stainless steel clamps and stainless steel screws, and is retained with a stainless steel chain when open, so it stays with the box during service. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating.

Per the drawing, the cover measures 16.31 x 14.31 in, the door opening is 15.30 x 13.30 in and 15.10 x 13.10 in of clear space is available on the door. Welded mounting brackets carry 0.31 in holes spaced 16.75 in vertically and 12.00 in horizontally, for an overall mounted height of 17.50 in. Internal threaded weld studs accept the optional 14R1513 inner panel (14.75 in (375 mm) x 12.88 in (327 mm)); alternative inner panel options are also available. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure.

The HJ161410LP is listed to UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (UL file E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (certificate LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It is REACH and RoHS compliant, and ships in a box with a shipping weight of 23 lbs (10.43 kg).
