The HFMD1884 is a Type 12 mild steel modular freestanding disconnect enclosure measuring 1800 x 800 x 400 mm (70.87 x 31.50 x 15.75 in, H x W x D). It is built for panel builders, electricians and OEM engineers who need a rugged housing for flange mount disconnect and circuit breaker requirements, with a hinged flange door and a multi-vendor cutout. At 400 mm deep it is the shallowest configuration in the HFMD range, suited to tight aisles and wall-adjacent lineups.
The frame is formed 14 gauge steel, fully welded, with a 25mm hole pattern that provides extensive component and accessory mounting flexibility. A foam gasket on all openings provides a dust-tight seal, and four reinforced lifting eyebolts are provided for lifting. The enclosure is phosphatized and finished in RAL 7035 light gray textured powder coating; the inner mounting panel is unpainted galvanized 12 gauge steel measuring 1696 x 699 mm (66.77 x 27.52 in). The 800 mm wide frame carries a 699 mm (27.52 in) wide inner mounting panel.
Each HFMD1884 ships with the frame, a removable solid top panel, a removable bottom panel with gland plates (bottom gland plate cutout 512 x 106 mm per the drawing), a solid front door with door frame, a removable rear cover panel, the inner mounting panel, disconnect-to-door-handle activation hardware and the hinged flange door. Doors open 135° and can be interchanged, removed or reversed, and bonding and grounding studs are provided for all doors and panels. Shipping weight is 275 lbs (124.74 kg).
The flange mount design accommodates common disconnect hardware from ABB, Allen Bradley, C-H Westinghouse, General Electric, ITE Siemens and Square D, including disconnect switches up to 200 amp. Because the system is modular, this unit can be joined to other frames with an optional joining kit, and HME/HMET enclosures can serve as secondary units alongside it. It is listed to UL 508A Type 12 and CSA Type 12 and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54 when appropriate components are used.
