Hammond EPG4224 42 x 24 Enclosure Galvanized Steel Inner Panel

The EPG4224 is a galvanized steel inner panel from the EP Series for Eclipse Series enclosures, listed by the manufacturer as fitting a 42 x 24 enclosure. It gives panel builders, OEM engineers and electricians a large back panel for mounting equipment inside a 42 x 24 Eclipse enclosure. Per the series data, EP panels are larger than the standard NEMA panel used in the same sized enclosure, so more of the enclosure's footprint is available for equipment.

Construction is 12 gauge steel finished in unpainted galvanized, the galvanized counterpart to the white powder-coated mild steel EP4224. Its drawing shows 0.75 in formed flange dimensions on both axes, in line with the series note that larger sizes carry formed flanges for added strength. The series also uses a slotted corner design for easier mounting.

Per the series ordering table, the EPG4224 measures 40.20 in (1021 mm) in dimension D by 22.20 in (564 mm) in dimension E, and its part drawing gives overall dimensions of 40.17 x 22.17 in with a 0.10 in material thickness. The hole pattern is 39.19 x 21.19 in with 0.44 in diameter holes set 0.49 in from the edges. On the drawing, the 40.20 in dimension into two 19.59 in spans, indicating an intermediate hole position along the longer run. Shipping weight is 28 lbs (12.70 kg).

The EPG4224 is listed as RoHS compliant and REACH compliant and ships packed in a box. Hammond's wallmount assembly instructions note that inner panels are ordered separately for the EN4SD, EN4TD, ST and EN4DSC series, and show the panel secured with 5/16-18 kep nuts torqued to 100 in-lbs.
