Hammond EN4SD482412LG 48 x 24 x 12 in Type 4 Steel Wall Enclosure, Light Gray

The EN4SD482412LG is a 48 in tall single-door enclosure from the Eclipse Series of Type 4 mild steel wallmount enclosures, measuring 48 x 24 x 12 in (1219 x 610 x 305 mm) H x W x D. It is built to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it in harsh, industrial wallmount applications. At 12 in deep it keeps a comparatively slim profile on the wall.

The body is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams ground smooth, a formed lip helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants, and the gasket is a seamless poured-in-place design. The cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished inside and out with a recoatable RAL 7035 textured light gray powder; the same size in ANSI 61 smooth gray is EN4SD482412GY.

This part uses latch Type B: a handle with 3-point latching. The key-lockable handle is zinc diecast with a black epoxy finish. Hinges are 304 stainless steel with stainless pins, the door is removable and interchangeable, and its swing can be reversed with adapter kit EHLLSAK. The drawing shows a door opening of 22.31 x 46.31 in.

Collar studs are provided for mounting an inner panel; the optional panel for this size is EP4824, measuring 46.20 in (1173 mm) H x 22.20 in (564 mm) W. Included is a hardware kit with panel nuts and sealing washers for the wall mounting holes; a door bonding stud and body grounding stud are fitted.

Ratings are UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4 and 12, IEC 60529 IP66 and NEMA Type 3R, 4 and 12. A mounting foot kit is required to maintain UL/CSA external mounting requirements. It is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships at 98 lbs (44.45 kg), packed in a box.
