Hammond EN4SD422416LG 42x24x16 in Type 4 Wallmount Enclosure, Light Gray

Panel builders and electrical contractors who need a sealed wall-hung cabinet can specify the EN4SD422416LG: a 42 x 24 x 16 in (1,067 mm x 610 mm x 406 mm) Eclipse Series single-door wallmount enclosure in mild steel. It carries NEMA Type 3R, 4 and 12 ratings and is intended to enclose electrical and electronic equipment exposed to harsh industrial conditions.

The body is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams ground smooth, and a formed lip helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. A seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door, which hangs on hidden 304 stainless steel hinges with stainless steel pins. The enclosure is phosphatized and powder coated inside and out in RAL 7035 textured light gray; the same size in ANSI 61 gray is EN4SD422416GY.

This size uses Type B latching, a handle with 3-point latching; the multi-point handle (key lockable) is zinc diecast with a black epoxy finish. The door opening measures 22.31 x 40.31 in, and the drawing shows 18.64 x 40.00 in of clear space available on the door. Doors can be removed for modification, and door swing can be reversed by ordering adapter kit EHLLSAK. Shipping weight is 102 lbs (46.27 kg).

Collar studs are provided for mounting an inner panel; the optional EP4224 panel measures 40.20 in (1021 mm) high by 22.20 in (564 mm) wide and is not part of this enclosure (listed as less panel). A hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers for the wall mounting holes is included, along with a bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure. The EN4SD422416LG is UL 508A (File E65324) and CSA (LR21001) listed for Type 3R, 4 and 12; a mounting foot kit is required to maintain UL/CSA external mounting requirements. It is REACH and RoHS compliant.
