Hammond EN4SD242012GY 24x20x12 in Type 4 Wallmount Enclosure, ANSI 61 Gray

The Hammond Eclipse EN4SD242012GY is a Type 4 mild steel wallmount enclosure measuring 24 x 20 x 12 in (610 x 508 x 305 mm) with a single hinged door and slotted quarter-turn latching (latch Type A). It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it against harsh industrial environments, with a vertical format, 24 in high by 20 in wide, for panel builders, electricians and OEM engineers.

The body is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams ground smooth, and a formed lip around the opening helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. A seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door, which hangs on hidden 304 stainless steel hinges with stainless steel pins. The quarter-turn latches are zinc diecast with a black epoxy finish. Enclosure and cover are phosphatized and finished inside and out in a recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coat; the same size in RAL 7035 light gray is EN4SD242012LG.

Its 12 in (305 mm) depth adds room over the 10 in version of the same 24 x 20 in face size. The drawing shows a door opening of 18.52 in wide by 22.52 in high and 18.00 x 22.00 in of clear space available on the door. Collar studs are provided for mounting an inner panel; the matching optional panel is EP2420, measuring 22.20 in (564 mm) high by 18.20 in (462 mm) wide. Shipping weight is 40 lbs (18.14 kg).

For installation, the EN4SD242012GY includes a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers for the wall mounting holes, which are 0.50 in diameter on a 18.50 x 22.50 in pattern per the drawing. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure. The door swing can be reversed with adapter kit EHLLSAK. The series is listed to UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4 and 12 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), complies with IEC 60529 IP66 and NEMA Type 3R, 4 and 12, and a mounting foot kit is required to maintain UL/CSA external mounting requirements.
