The Hammond EJPA is a padlock adapter for Eclipse Junior (EJ) Series enclosures, made from 304 stainless steel. It fits directly over the slotted quarter turn, preventing access, so maintenance and facilities teams can secure an EJ enclosure with a padlock of their choice.
The adapter is 2mm thick, 14 gauge stainless steel, and stainless steel mounting hardware is provided. Once installed, the bolts cannot be removed without the door open. It is easy to install in the field, and it maintains the UL/CSA Type 4, 4X rating.
The part drawing shows a 0.375 in diameter hole, a 2.689 in front view dimension, a 2.35 in dimension and a 0.838 in side view dimension. Note that a padlock is not included.
Because the adapter covers the slotted quarter turn itself, the latch cannot be operated while a padlock is fitted, and the mounting bolts are only reachable from inside with the door open. This makes it a straightforward way to add padlock security to an existing Eclipse Junior enclosure without changing its latch.
