Hammond EJ863AL 8x6x3.5 In Type 4X Aluminum Quarter-Turn Junction Box

The EJ863AL is an 8 x 6 x 3.5 in (203 x 152 x 89 mm) Eclipse Junior Type 4X aluminum junction box with a continuous hinge cover, 316 stainless steel quarter turn latches and a removable galvanized inner panel. Its shallow 3.5 in depth keeps a low profile for terminal wiring and instrument enclosures in wet or corrosive areas.

The body is 0.08 in Type 5052 H-32 aluminum with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes; a formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants. The continuously hinged cover uses an aluminum hinge and opens 180 degrees; its quarter turn latches are formed from 316 stainless steel and need a tool to open. A seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the cover, and welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting. Cover and enclosure are natural unfinished aluminum, with a bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud on the enclosure, and grounding hardware provided. The removable 14 gauge inner panel is unpainted galvanized steel and mounts on tapped studs, with panel mounting hardware provided.

The EJ863AL is 8 in x 6 in x 3.5 in (203 mm x 152 mm x 89 mm) (H x W x D). The removable galvanized inner panel is 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm), the same panel size as the 6 in deep EJ866AL. For layout, the manufacturer drawing shows an overall height of 9.50 in including the mounting brackets and an overall depth of 4.12 in, a 7.24 x 5.24 in cover opening and 3.40 in of usable depth. Mounting holes are 0.31 in diameter, and the shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg).
