Hammond EJ8104LG 8x10x4 in Type 4 Steel Junction Box, Light Gray

The EJ8104LG is an Eclipse Junior Series Type 4 mild steel junction box measuring 8.00 in (203 mm) high, 10.00 in (254 mm) wide and 4.00 in (102 mm) deep. It is designed to enclose electrical and/or electronic equipment and protect it against harsh, industrial environments, and is finished in RAL 7035 textured light gray (LG). Its 4 in depth suits terminal wiring enclosures, junction boxes and instrument housings, with 3.94 in of usable depth measured on the drawing.

Body and cover are formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes, so you add only the entries your job needs. A formed lip on the enclosure helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the cover. The recoatable powder finish is applied inside and out.

The continuously hinged cover uses 304 stainless steel hinges and opens 180°. Black zinc diecast quarter-turn latches have a slot that requires a tool to open, adding a measure of safety. Inside, a removable 14 gauge galvanized inner panel measuring 6.88 in (175 mm) x 8.75 in (222 mm) mounts on internal threaded weld studs; the inner panel is unpainted galvanized steel. A bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure are provided, along with grounding and panel mounting hardware.

Welded 14 gauge brackets handle wall mounting; per the drawing, overall height including the brackets is 9.50 in with 8.75 x 8.00 in bracket hole centres and Ø0.31 in holes. The EJ8104LG is listed to UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It is also offered as EJ8104 in ANSI 61 smooth gray.
