Hammond EJ161410 16x14x10" Type 4 Steel Junction Box, ANSI 61 Gray

The EJ161410 is a 16 x 14 x 10 in (406 mm x 356 mm x 254 mm) Eclipse Junior Type 4 mild steel junction box with a continuous hinge door and quarter-turn latches. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it in harsh industrial environments, and is used as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure. With 10 in of depth on a 16 x 14 in face, this is the deepest Eclipse Junior size in the ordering table, with 9.94 in of usable depth shown on the drawing.

The body and cover are formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door. The continuous 304 stainless steel hinge allows a 180° door opening, while the black zinc diecast quarter-turn latches use a slot that requires a tool to open. The EJ161410 is the ANSI 61 gray version, finished in a smooth recoatable powder coat inside and out; the same size in RAL 7035 textured light gray is EJ161410LG.

A removable 14 gauge galvanized inner panel measuring 14.75 in high by 12.88 in wide is included and mounts on internal threaded weld studs (10-32 thread per the drawing). The drawing shows a door opening of 13.36 x 15.36 in and 14.75 x 12.75 in of clear space on the door. 14 gauge welded brackets mount the enclosure, with 0.31 in holes on 12.00 x 16.75 in centres. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud on the enclosure, and grounding and panel mounting hardware are provided.

The enclosure carries UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 ratings (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It ships in a box at 28 lbs (12.70 kg).
